JVA SummerFest: Slow Day 1 Will Give Way To Exciting Conclusions

Elevation 15s’ Olivia Logsdon (12) and Danielle Sargent (20) team up on a block.

A week ago, the inaugural JVA West Coast Cup in Long Beach kicked off with a shocking upset, as national No. 3 Coast 16-1, the top seed, was eliminated from contention on Day 1.

There was nothing so dramatic on the first day of competition this Saturday, as the JVA SummerFest opened for the second season after making its debut in Columbus last year.

A slow Day 1 though is sure to give way to a much more power-packed Day 2, which features a slew of potential showdowns between nationally-ranked opponents.

Perhaps none take place more than in 16 Open.
